Parts and Crafts Flatbread Fundraiser May 31st

Parts and Crafts, Somerville’s family hackerspace is hosting a fundraiser at Flatbread Pizza in Davis Square to support free slots and reduced-cost spots in our summer programs.

Join Parts and Crafts staff, kids and parents for an evening of pizza, bowling and Star-Wars-themed shenanigans Tuesday May 31st from 6-8 pm at Flatbread Company, 45 Day Street, Somerville.The evening will also feature a Trash to Treasure raffle of interesting Parts and Crafts miscellany.

Every summer Parts and Crafts holds 9 weeks of tinkering camps where kids aged 7-13 can make, learn and play. Kids at Parts and Crafts summer camp spend their time building boffer swords and motor cars, lighting up LEDs, Scratch programming, sewing capes, making masks, sculpting miniature food, gardening, drawing comics, playing capture the flag and board games and much more. Funding free slots would allow as many Somerville kids as possible to attend this popular camp as well as help subsidize the reduced cost slots already offered and a special satellite camp at the Mystic Learning Center this summer.
