Phone Scam Asks For Louis Remigio Donations: Police

Somerville police say at this time no official donations or fundraising have been set up in memory of Remigio.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Police are warning residents of a reported phone scam asking for donations for a fund set up in honor of fallen officer Louis Remigio. Police say calls from a local number were made to residents Tuesday morning. The caller pretends to be from the Somerville Police Department.

Police ask that residents do not respond or send money to the callers as they are not associated with any police organization. Somerville detectives are currently investigating their origin.

At this time no donations or fundraising have been established for Remigio, according to police.
