PHOTOS: Paul Revere Statue Unveiled Outside Somerville Hotel

The 2,000-pound monument was introduced Monday at the Holiday Inn.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The city's newest monument, a 2,000-pound statue of Paul Revere, was unveiled Monday at a ceremony hosted by Holiday Inn Boston-Bunker Hill.

The bronze statue at the corner of Washington Street and Inner Belt Road was designed to "pay tribute to Paul Revere's patriotic legacy and all that he accomplished in the state of Massachusetts," according to a statement from Holiday Inn.

The statue's spot will serve as the new home of a marker that tracks Paul Revere's ride on his way to Lexington and Concord.
