PHOTOS: Tufts Students Commemorate Japanese Tsunami
Students and faculty at Tufts have the people of Japan in their minds a year after the devastating March 11 earthquake.
The Japanese Culture Club gathered 100 members of the Tufts community for these two photos. The first depicts the Japanese flag; the second forms the message "Tufts loves Japan."
The photos were taken March 7, and all this week the university is commemorating the anniversary of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan last year.
According to a message from the Japanese Culture Club, the Tufts community raised over $10,000 last year to help the people of Japan, and this year they've decided awareness and rememberance are important. They've scheduled a week of events and talks.
