Police are still searching for a man who robbed Kay Jewelers of thousands of dollars in watches.
SOMERVILLE, MA – A man suspected of robbing a jewelry store at Assembly Row remains at large after nearly a week. Police have released new images of the suspect, who investigators believe also robbed the Shaw's at Twin City Plaza a week earlier.
On Thursday, Aug. 30 around 2:24 p.m., the man entered Kay Jewelers and handed a shopping bag to the manager, police said. He allegedly showed a 1911 .45-caliber gun and told the manager to "fill it."
He fled the store three minutes later, running into a parking garage and then leaving Somerville on the Orange Line, according to police. The store estimated $30,000 in watches was stolen.
