Quick Look: iYO Cafe in Davis Square

iYO Cafe opened in Davis Square at the beginning of August in the , a convenience store.

In its first month, the self-serve yogurt shop seems to be quite popular.

Customers can choose from about a dozen different frozen yogurt and sorbet flavors and adorn them with lots of toppings. You pay for your helping by weight.

You'll note the cardboard serving cups are huge, which, it's been shown, leads people to serve more food for themselves. So be careful.

iYO also has an espresso cafe, and it will soon have a function room in the back for large gatherings.

It's at 234 Elm St. and is open until 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday. It opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends.
