Residents Invited to Mayor Joseph Curtatone's 2016 Inaugural Ceremony

Mayor Curtatone is entering his seventh term as the mayor of Somerville.

The City of Somerville is inviting residents to Mayor Joseph Curtatone’s 2016 inaugural ceremony.

The ceremony will mark the beginning of Curtatone’s record seventh term as mayor of Somerville. The ceremony will take place at Somerville High School in the Somerville Auditorium at 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 4. A reception will be held at the Holiday Inn located at 30 Washington Street shortly thereafter.

Curtatone has made history throughout his tenure as mayor. In 2003, he became the second-youngest mayor to serve the city at 38 years old. Curtatone began his sixth term as mayor in 2014, which is a historic mark for the city’s mayoral seat. Curtatone received 77 percent of the vote in 2015’s election.

He graduated from Somerville High School in 1984 and received his B.A. from Boston College in 1990. He then received his J.D. from the New England College of Law in 1994 and a Mid-Career Master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School in 2011.
