Right at Home Boston and North Holiday Food Drive

MEDIA ALERT—[Somerville, MA December 22, 2016]

Recently, Right at Home Boston and North made a food donation to the emergency food shelter at the Somerville Homeless Coalition in Somerville, MA. We donated 100 food items such as canned goods and other non-perishables to the food shelter. Thanks to all those at Right at Home who donated, it was a huge success. Also, thank you to all our new friends at the Somerville Homeless Coalition for all your work in the community and for helping those in need!

The Somerville Homeless Coalition (SHC) was created in 1985 in response to social crisis of homelessness in the area. The collaboration of community members in Somerville helped to open the city’s first emergency shelter. The SHC is a resource for homeless and hungry families and children in the Somerville and Greater Boston area. The SHC emergency food shelter feeds roughly 20-30 individuals per month. The mission of the Somerville Homeless Coalition is to provide homeless and near homeless individuals and families with individualized supportive services and tailed housing solutions with a goal of obtaining and maintaining affordable housing.
