Right at Home Presents DementiaLive™ at Stonebridge Burlington

Dementia Live® Is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia.

Local in-home care agency, Right at Home Boston and North, trained health care professionals at Stonebridge Burlington on DementiaLive®. Over 25 nurses, case managers and social workers attended and completed the training. Right at Home Boston and North team members, Celeste Begley and Victoria Guskiewicz, are trained facilitators for DementiaLive®, and have put hundreds of care professionals through the training throughout the Commonwealth.

Dementia Live® is a high impact, dementia simulation experience that immerses participants into life with dementia, resulting in a deeper understanding of what it’s like to live with cognitive impairment and sensory change. The aim of the program is to build awareness and understanding of the neurodegenerative disease.

The training helps participants to improve communication and decrease misunderstanding with patients and their families. It also advocates for person-centered care. Right at Home Boston and North introduced the training to the Merrimack Valley in 2016.
