River Bar Welcomes Autumn to Assembly Row

River Bar is welcoming autumn to Assembly Row by debuting new seasonal menu features to be enjoyed while watching the glowing fall foliage amidst the Mystic River backdrop. The new culinary and cocktail creations capture the rich tastes of the fall harvest and will be available throughout the season both indoors and outdoors, as long as the weather allows.

On the culinary side, executive chef Patrick Gilmartin is dishing out a series of new items with creative global influences. New small plates include White Bean Hummus with crispy oyster mushrooms and grilled sourdough ($8), Braised Lamb & Rice Cakes with parmesan, baby carrots and cranberries ($13), Corn & Bluefish Chowder with fingerling potatoes and basil oil ($11) and Roasted Squash Panzanella with arugula, dried cranberries and cider vinaigrette ($10). There also are seasonal entrees, like Grilled Flank Steak with fried broccoli, black bean sauce and crispy sweet potatoes ($26) and Stuffed Rainbow Trout with spinach, mushrooms and smoked tomato ($25).

On the liquid side, beverage director Lauren Vigdor has revamped the cocktail list to showcase the warm, bright flavors of the season. Highlights from the menu include the Beginner’s Luck with Montenegro, orgeat and blood orange topped with cava ($13), Paris Carver with vodka, St. George pear liqueur, ginger and black pepper ($10), My Cherie Amour with fresh muddled mint, sherry, raspberry and lime garnished with powdered sugar ($11), A Mother’s Love with apple-infused tequila, cinnamon rum and grapefruit juice shaken with egg white and a hint of vanilla ($11), the Autumn Still with bourbon, Kummel, Averna and a dash of angostura bitters ($10) and Dear Eulalie with bourbon, pumpkin and amaretto shaken with egg white and finished with a dash of nutmeg ($12). For chilly nights, there is the Hot Buttered Cider with Old Monk rum, mulled cider and cinnamon butter ($10).
