Shuttered North End Restaurant Reopening In Somerville

An Italian eatery that closed last summer is coming to Assembly Row.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A North End restaurant that closed last summer will reopen next year at Assembly Row, according to Eater Boston. Carmen Trattoria shuttered last July but hinted at a possible return. Now, it is slated to open at 521 Assembly Row in March under the name Carmen’s Trattoria & Italian Pub, Eater reported.

The new space comes with an expansion. Whereas the old space sat 36, the new restaurant will boast room for nearly 120 guests, Jeff Malloy, executive chef and director of operations, told Eater.

Carmen's menu will include favorites from the North End eatery, Italian-style pub fare like flatbreads and chicken wings and plenty of cocktail, wine and beer options (it will have a full liquor license). The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week and brunch on Sundays.
