Snowstorm Delays Opening Of New Assembly Row Pizza Place
Neapolitan pizza chain MidiCi was slated to open its first New England restaurant in Somerville this week.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Local Neapolitan pizza fans will have to wait a little longer to satisfy their cravings. MidiCi, which was slated to open at Assembly Row this Thursday, postponed its grand opening after winds knocked over an outdoor scaffolding during last week's snowstorm.
The accident delayed completion of some construction, a spokesperson for the chain told Patch. No one was injured in the collapse, and the chain said it "appreciates the rapid response from fire and police in Somerville."
MidiCi aims to open later this month but has not yet announced an official date.

The chain's space at Assembly Row was designed by celebrated Los Angeles hotel and restaurant designer and architect Sam Marshall and marries an upscale dining ambiance with a casual dining feel. It will be MidiCi's first New England location.
MidiCi's menu offers traditional and signature menu options, as well as personalized Napolitan pizzas, baked in an open kitchen format known as "the Heart." Acclaimed Los Angeles-based restauranteur Peppe Miele and Mario Vollera, both Italian natives and renowned Neapolitan pizza chefs, created the menu with authentic dishes and drinks – from artisan burratas and traditional pizzas to craft beers, fine wines and cocktails – to "ensure a complete Neapolitan pizza experience."
