Somerville Bank Collects 500 Toys For Tots
Middlesex Federal pledged to match donations received at all three of its locations.
SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville bank Middlesex Federal collected 500 toys through its 2017 Toys for Tots program. Each year the bank pledges to match toy donations made at all three of its locations.
"Each year, our staff purchases and donates toys to the Toys for Tots program," J. Michelle Lund, assistant area director of the DDS, said in a statement. "Last year, we learned that our donation would be doubled if we brought them to Middlesex Federal, so we didn’t hesitate to bring them there. More toys for more children, what could be better?"
This year, Middlesex Federal more than doubled the number of toys collected. Bank employees shopped at Toys R Us to buy additional toys and delivered more than 500 to the Kiwanis Christmas Marines Toys for Tots event on Dec. 14 at Mt. Vernon Restaurant, according to a press release.
