UPDATED: Police ID Somerville Bicyclist Struck, Killed in Medford Friday

The crash occurred Friday evening on Route 16, at Interstate 93.

Massachusetts State Police have identified the bicyclist who was struck and killed Friday evening on Route 16, at Interstate 93, in Medford, as Mohamed A. Zeidan, 29, of Somerville.

Police also identified the motorcyclist as Donald Y. Wood, 50, of Topsfield.

A Somerville bicyclist was struck and killed at about 7:40 p.m. Friday by a motorcycle on Route 16, at Interstate 93, in Medford.

The bicyclist, a 29-year-old man, was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after the crash where he later died from his injuries, according to Massachusetts State Police.

The motorcyclist, a 52-year-old man from Topsfield, was also transported to Massachusetts General Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.

State Police are investigating the crash. The motorcycle was a 2013 BMW motorcycle.

Police are not releasing names until proper next-of-kin notifications are made.
