Somerville Breaks Christmas Eve Temperature Record

Somerville broke its previous Christmas Eve record by six degrees on Thursday.

The city of Somerville isn’t exactly experiencing a white Christmas, but many did not expect to shatter any temperature records.

Somerville’s 67 degree temperatures on Thursday disintegrated the previous Christmas Eve high temperature record of 61 degrees set back in 1996 by six degrees, according to Intellicast. However, it seems that Somerville may not be able to break its Christmas Day records this year. Weather.com currently projects highs of 59 degrees on Friday, falling short of the 65 degree temperatures recorded in 1889 by six degrees.
