Somerville Brewing Company Files For Bankruptcy

SOMERVILLE, Ma — Somerville Brewing Company has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, according to court documents. The business, which has both a brewery/taproom and brewhouse, is looking to reorganize after falling behind on rent payments for its Assembly Row location.

Somerville Brewing Company wants to keep operating both locations as it reorganizes. The company opened its brewhouse at Assembly Row in 2017 after running a seasonal beer garden at the shopping complex.

The company, which sells the Slumbrew brand, has also operated a brewery and taproom on Ward Street since 2014.
