Somerville Chef Up For James Beard Award
The James Beard Foundation deems Sarma's Cassandra Piuma a semi-finalist for 2015's Best Chef: Northeast designation.

News broke this morning that Sarma chef and proprietor Cassandra ”Cassie” Piuma landed on the list of semi-finalists for the 2015 James Beard Best Chef: Northeast Award, alongside several other Boston-area foodsmiths.
Having its helmswoman placed among the 20 best chefs in the region bodes well for Sarma, which specializes in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern “meze”-style highbrow munches, and opened in Somerville relatively recently, in 2013.
