Somerville Deputy Fire Chief James Lucia Retires

Lucia received several commendations over the course of his 40-year career.

SOMERVILLE, MA — Deputy Fire Chief James Lucia worked his last shift with the Somerville Fire Department Tuesday, Feb. 27, capping a 40-year career.

Lucia joined the department in 1980 and served as deputy chief for the last 27 tears.

Lucia received several commendations over the course of his career, including for saving a child from a serious house fire and a water rescue in the Mystic River.
