A Somerville-based mixed martial arts fighter will test his skills under bright lights of Boston's TD Garden.

SOMERVILLE, MA— A Somerville-based mixed martial arts fighter will get his chance to compete on the sport’s biggest stage on Sunday.
Rob Font—who fights out of the Sityodtong Muay Thai and MMA Academy located on 100 Broadway—gets his second shot to compete in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on Sunday at the TD Garden in Boston for UFC Fight Night 81—Dillashaw vs. Cruz. Font will enter the cage with undefeated Joey Gomez in a 135-pound bantamweight bout.
Font competed in different organizations across the northeast before making his way to the UFC in 2014. He won his first first bout in decisive fashion with a first-round knockout over George Roop. Font holds a professional record of 11-1 with four victories by knockout and three by submission.
