Somerville Flu Vaccines: 10 Upcoming Free Clinics

SOMERVILLE, MA – Cold and flu season is nearly upon us (despite what 85 degrees and sunny on the cusp of October would have you believe), and the Somerville Department of Health and Human Services has begun offering its free annual flu clinics.

Somerville residents ages four and up may get vaccinated for free at any of the 10 upcoming clinics. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Vaccines are free, but attendees are asked to bring an insurance or Medicare card if available. The mist version of the vaccine is no longer recommended by the CDC and will not be available. Residents requiring additional assistance or other accommodations should contact the Health Department at 617-625-6600 ext. 4300.

Due to the limited supply and availability of nurses, vaccines will only be offered during official flu clinic hours. Clinics will continue as long as HHS still has vaccines in stock. Call 617-625-6600 ext. 4320 to find out if there will be flu shots available for all clinics.
