Somerville HONK! Festival 2017 Dates Announced

The annual event marries music and socio-political activism and travels throughout Somerville, Cambridge and Boston.

SOMERVILLE, MA – The HONK! Festival returns to Somerville for its 12th year this fall. The annual event based in Davis Square marries music and social justice and travels throughout Somerville, Cambridge and Boston.

The festival is free and runs from Oct. 6-8. All are invited to attend.

HONK! encourages a participatory culture and audience members have often left with memorable musical moments and life-altering experiences.

Though it originated in Somerville, HONK! has inspired festivals in Providence, New York City, Seattle, Eugene, Austin, Pittsburgh and Detroit, as well as cities in Australia and Brazil.

Last year's lineup included 26 acts from three countries, nine hours of continuous free performances in Davis Square, lantern parades throughout the neighborhoods of Somerville and the "Reclaim the Streets for Horns, Bikes and Feet" parade down Massachusetts Avenue.
