Somerville HONK! Festival 2018 To Feature 28+ Acts

SOMERVILLE, MA – The HONK! Festival returns to Somerville for its 13th year next month. The annual event based in Davis Square marries music and social justice and travels throughout Somerville, Cambridge and Boston.

The festival is free and runs from Oct. 5-7. All are invited to attend.

HONK! encourages a participatory culture and is dedicated to "waging peace and social justice" through traveling performances. Though it originated in Somerville, HONK! has inspired festivals in Providence, New York City, Seattle, Eugene, Austin, Pittsburgh and Detroit, as well as cities in Australia and Brazil.

This year's HONK! will feature 28 acts, including some new faces inspired by previous festivals (asterisk indicates a new addition to the lineup):

HONK! will also feature family friendly Lantern Parades through the neighborhoods of Somerville; continuous free performances by dozens of HONK! bands all day in Davis Square; a return of the wildly successful interactive Elm Street Art Space; and the HONK! Parade down Massachusetts Avenue to "Reclaim the Streets for Horns, Bikes, and Feet,” followed by a full afternoon of HONK! performances at Oktoberfest in Harvard Square.
