Somerville To Expand Waterfront Rec Activities
The city won a statewide bid for improvements at the Blessing of the Bay Boat House.

SOMERVILLE, MA ā New waterfront activity options will soon be available at Somerville's Blessing of the Bay Boat House. The city's Parks and Recreation Department, helmed by Director Jill Lathan, recently won a statewide bid to conduct maintenance, operations and additional recreation options at the Shore Drive boat house.
The Recreation Department has partnered with community organizations Gentle Giant Rowing CLub and Paddle Boston to offer new and expanded programming and training opportunities at the boat house this summer.
Currently, the city offers youth canoe and kayak clinics. That has been expanded to new trainings and clinics, paddle boarding and other water activities along Somerville's waterfront.
