UPDATED: Somerville Museum Has Just $9k Left to Raise by Midnight Monday

UDATED 1:25 p.m.: As of Monday morning, the Somerville Museum had $13,000 left to raise by midnight Monday to qualify for a matching donation from the state. They now have just $9,200 left to go. The funds will be used to help pay for needed renovations to the building including the roof. 

"If we can raise another $9,200 by midnight, we will have our match!!!,” e-mailed Historic Somerville President Barbara Mangum. "That's 184 people each giving $50 or 92 people each giving $100.... Thank you to each and everyone of you who have contributed and are helping to make the Museum building a little drier. " 

To make a donation online, go to http://www.HistoricSomerville.org and click on any donate button.  Of you can send a check to the Somerville Museum, One Westwood Rd, Somerville, MA 02144. As long as it is postmarked today, it will count toward the match.

As of Thursday, 218 individuals, families, businesses and organizations had answered the call to donate to the Somerville Museum Building Fund--and $25,000 in funds were left to raise.

This morning, Historic Somerville President Barbara Mangum e-mailed that, "the Somerville Museum Building fund is at $91,802, with only $12,698 to go to meet the Massachusetts Cultural Facilities fund grant of $104,500!!! I really think we can make our goal by tonight! People and businesses have been very generous and are still actively giving.”
