Somerville Native Identified as Victim of Oakland Warehouse Fire

SOMERVILLE, MA – A 28-year-old man from Somerville was killed in the devastating weekend fire in an Oakland warehouse.

Micah Danemayer was among 10 people authorities identified late Monday as victims. Danemayer, an electronic musician who performed under the name Paralycyst, was at the "Ghost Ship" with his girlfriend, 26-year-old Alana "Jen" Kane.

As of Monday night, Kane remained missing.

Though Danemayer lived in Oakland at the time of his death, both the Boston Globe and L.A. Times have reported he was originally from Somerville.

The death toll remains at 36 in the blaze that ripped through the "Ghost Ship," and Oakland fire officials said Tuesday that the building is about 85 percent cleared of debris.

Danemayer's friends have set up a Facebook page dedicated to his memory.
