Somerville Police Arrest Two After Alleged Robbery
Pedro Herrera and Miguel Lopez were arrested last week after reportedly assaulting a man outside of a Dunkin' Donuts.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Two Everett men were arrested last week after allegedly robbing another man with a knife outside of a Dunkin' Donuts.
Pedro Herrera, 45, and Miguel Angel Lopez, 29, were taken into custody last Wednesday after police say they threatened another man and stole $5 from him near the Dunkin' Donuts at 76 Middlesex Ave.
Both were charged with armed robbery and conspiracy; Herrera received an additional charge of providing a false name or social security number.

According to a Somerville police incident report, police received a call that two Hispanic males had assaulted another Hispanic man and then fled under the overpass toward Stop & Shop. One of the men was identified as carrying a backpack with the words "El Salvador" on it.
Officers encountered the alleged victim in the grass field between Dunkin' Donuts and the Public Storage at 50 Middlesex Ave. He told police one of the men, wearing a blue shirt and brown sweater around his waist, asked the victim to fight in the grassy area.

The man then allegedly demanded money from him and revealed a knife in his waistband. The victim handed him $5, and the two suspects then fled the scene, according to the report.
Police stopped two Hispanic males in the area of Blakely Avenue and McGrath Highway who matched the description provided by the victim.
Police searched Herrera and found a knife in the sneaker bag, which Herrera said was not his, according to the police report.
The report stated that police also found $5 on Herrera, as well as a blue shirt in his hand. He and Lopez were taken into custody, and the alleged victim identified Lopez as the man who showed the knife and took his money.
Police said during booking, Herrera gave a false name, but officers found a pill bottle with his real name on it in his belongings.
