Somerville Police Will Take Drugs Off Your Hands
The department is participating in National Take Back Day this month.

SOMERVILLE, MA – National Take Back Day is this month, and Somerville police will have two drop-off locations for residents to dispose of unwanted prescription medications April 28. The collection kiosk at the Somerville Police Department, 220 Washington St., is available 24/7. A second drop-off point, at the Somerville Fire Station at 6 Newbury St., will be open from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
The following items may be disposed:
- Prescription and over the counter medications
- Pet medications
- Samples of medications
- Pills, capsules, inhalers, ointments and patches
- Vitamins
People dropping off medicine should remove any identifying information from the container or place medication in a clear ziplock bag.
