Somerville Receives Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Somerville.

The advisory will last from 8:00 p.m. on Monday night until Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Snow accumulations are expected to total between one to two inches. Gusts are expected to reach 30 miles per hour and temperatures will be in the lower thirties.

Monday night’s forecast currently projects temperatures of 26 degrees, and a 90 percent chance of snow in the evening. Tuesday’s forecast projects a high of 39 degrees with a 100 percent chance of precipitation. A wintry mix is expected in the morning followed by rain in the afternoon.

The NWS says that roads will become slick and visibility will be greatly reduced to around one quarter mile or less at times.
