Somerville Restaurant Featured On Phantom Gourmet (WATCH)

SOMERVILLE, MA – Restaurant review program Phantom Gourmet recently featured Assembly Row sushi joint Fuji. The eatery opened at 320 Canal Street in Assembly Row three years ago under the ownership of JP Fuji Group, which operates eight other area restaurants.

Head Chef Jimmy Liang told Phantom Gourmet he began making sushi at 14 years old, honing his craft to become head chef at 18 and then open his first restaurant the following year. His team, he said, trains all its own chefs.

"I've got two students, and my own students have their own students," Liang said.

In addition to a "banquet-sized" sushi bar, Fuji also features teriyaki and wok-tossed dishes, lunch specials and a robust drink menu that includes craft beer, red and white wines, cocktails and sake.
