Somerville Schedules State of the City Address

Residents are invited for a look back at the year that was and a preview of what's to come.

SOMERVILLE, MA – Somerville has scheduled its annual State of the City address for Jan. 9.

The mayor will update the public on the city's efforts in 2016, as well as a look forward at the coming year. The event will also feature mid-term addresses by the president of the Board of Aldermen and the chair of the Somerville School Committee, who will provide updates on the various city and school initiatives.

As the city is celebrating its 175th birthday in 2017, attendees will also be invited to learn more about Somerville's history through photos, exhibits and interactive activities at a reception following the address.

The State of the City address will take place Monday, Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Aldermanic Chambers at City Hall.
