Somerville Seeks Artists for 175th Birthday Design
The city invites anyone with a penchant for creativity to submit ideas ahead of the year-long celebration.
SOMERVILLE, MA – Next year is Somerville's 175th birthday, and ahead of the year-long celebration, the city is asking the community to submit its best logo ideas and sketches to be featured on all banners, signs and memorabilia.
The winning design will be the face of the 175th celebrations, in addition to receiving a $200 honorarium. Anyone is invited to apply, though special consideration will be given to Somerville residents.
Artists of all skill levels are encouraged to participate; if you have an idea, but are not comfortable putting pen to paper, the city will use the design for inspiration and create the final logo in-house. Those willing to donate their time can send a vector drawing that will be sent to the printer.
