Somerville To Update Residents On ARTFarm Progress

The city is transforming a former waste center into a 2.2-acre art and urban growing facility.

SOMERVILLE, MA – As development of ARTFarm progresses in Somerville, city officials will host a public meeting to update residents on the project's status. Mayor Curtatone and the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development invite residents to join them Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. at the Brickbottom Artists Association to discuss the future of the site.

The project will convert a 2.2-acre former waste transfer station into a community art and urban growing facility. The initiative is part of Shape Up Somerville, a 15-year program designed to build a healthier and more equitable Somerville through community projects.

A community meeting will follow in February 2018 to receive feedback on final designs.
