Somerville Woman Indicted In 'Violent' Encore Attack: AG
Authorities said the 20-year-old looked on while a man was beaten in an elevator at the casino last fall.

EVERETT, MA — A Somerville woman is one of four people charged in a "violent" assault at Encore Boston Harbor, according to the Attorney General's office. Leilani Reyes, 20, was indicted on a charge of impeding a gaming investigation, the AG said.
Authorities said Reyes watched as 27-year-old Matthew Haley, of Cambridge, and 32-year-old Jose Mercado, of Boston assaulted a man in an elevator Oct. 23. Haley punched the man in the face and repeatedly kicked on stomped on his head and body when he fell on the floor, with Mercado joining in, the AG's office said.
An Encore employee, 24-year-old Brittany Dawson, of Stoneham, held the door to the parking garage open from the elevator bay for the men to escape and then drove them away from the casino, according to the AG. The suspects and the victim were strangers, authorities said.
