Somerville World's Fair Commences on Sunday

Tykes can absorb multicultural fun and education at zero cost to their guardians.

The old saying goes that it’s never too late to broaden your cultural horizons. It’s also never too early. But even if you’re the type of parent who’d love to see your wee one investigate and appreciate customs and history from places like South America, Europe, and Asia, traveling can be expensive. Worse yet, many kids are just plain no good at all on plane rides.

Luckily, if you want your offspring to learn about other countries without actually going to other countries, the Cultural Care Au Pair agency has just the trick. Sunday morning, the group hosts the 2015 Somerville World’s Fair at The Center for Arts at the Armory, 191 Highland Ave. The free event - designed for children between 2 and 10 years of age - offers up internationally-themed arts and crafts, food, face painting and other activities. Maybe it won’t be as educational as a trip to Brazil, but boy will it ever be less of a hassle.

Those interested should RSVP here.
