Street Sweeping Resumes April 1 in Somerville
The penalty for not complying with street sweeping parking regulations is a $50 fine.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville’s regular street sweeping schedules officially resume on Friday, April 1 and continue through December 31, said Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the Somerville Parking Department in a news release.
On designated street sweeping days, vehicles must be moved from the side of the street being swept, as noted on signs posted on each street. The penalty for not complying with street sweeping parking regulations is a $50 fine. Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the street sweeping schedule in areas where they park.
In the coming days, the City’s online schedule lookup tool and street sweeping alerts sign-up will be available at somervillema.gov/sweeping. The alert service, however, is offered as a courtesy and a backup, but not as a fail-safe service. Tickets will not be dismissed due to any system error resulting in a lack of notification.
