Once a band wins the Rock ‘n Roll Rumble, opens for Coldplay, and breaks up and gets back together a handful of times, it’s not always easy to know what step to take next. I mean, what else is there for an indie rock outfit to accomplish, really?
For the Luxury, who have done all of those things (though we might be exaggerating about the breakups), the answer turned out to be “record ‘Bones & Beaten Heart,’” their first LP since 2009’s “In The Wake Of What Won’t Change.” To commemorate the album’s grand unveiling, The Luxury perform at Cuisine en Locale in Somerville on the evening of Feb. 13 in the company of fellow local favs Vary Lumar, Z*L and Shadwell.

Critical praise for “Bones”...has already proven exceptionally strong. Vanyaland writer Michael Marotta favorably likened its sound to the 1990s Britpop wave.
“The songs are catchy enough to fall into the import bins at a ’90s-era Tower Records (and justify those old $30 price tags),” he wrote, alongside three “Bones...” preview cuts. But this release has no Japanese bonus tracks or live versions tagged on at the end. Because it doesn’t need them.”
