Water My Mind - 9th Annual Boston Greenfest 2016

Boston Greenfest 2016, Vegetarianism, Going Green, Foundation For a Green Future Inc.

The Youth is Always on the Right Side of History
Quite literally, the future that lies ahead is in our hands. It’s up to the choices we make to dictate which direction our society will move in. Take a moment to stop, reflect, and ask yourself why you think the way that you think, and this alone has the potential to open so many doors within your mind, and alter your life, for the better.
When we are young, and begin to learn about well, everything in life, the process is exciting. Everything we learn is something new and amazing. The problem with this, is that not everything we are taught is correct. The process of relearning these things, however, will become the most freeing, and soul- nurturing experience to undergo. Ignorance isn’t bliss, compassion is bliss.

If an Idea Can Move You, Let it Help You Move Mountains
Compose your world full of positive thoughts, innovations, and people that inspires you to grow in the right direction, and better yourself. Not only for yourself, but for all lives, including our planets’.
So, how can we make a change, how can we make a difference? The 9th annual Boston GreenFest is a festival dedicated to the advocacy of supporting these lifestyle changes. You are allowed to let go of your past self, beliefs, and lifestyle at any given moment.

Starving For Knowledge
What would happen, to the globe as a whole, if we were all to go vegetarian tomorrow? What about vegan? Is it possible that altering our diets could change the world in the blink of an eye?
These are questions not many of us think about on an everyday basis, with the exception of tripping over those shared Peta videos on Facebook.
As the population of our world is peaking 7 billion people, it is more then crucial that we start considering sustainable methods, for the sake of not only the earth and all of the species living on it, but also our own survival, and generations to come.
It is faintly known that the factory farming industry actually has a huge negative impact on our earth. Greenhouse gas emission created by humans alone, is a whopping 14.5%. If everyone were to switch to a vegan diet say tomorrow, by the year 2050, greenhouse gas emission connected to animal agriculture would reduce by 17%, nitrous oxide emission by 21%, and methane emission by 24%. The only methane gas emitted from cows would be the ones who were in the wild/ kept as pets. Crazy, right?

You Are What You Eat
Your body is fighting for you to break down whatever you put into it, and with a meat based diet, it is an ongoing battle. Almost all factory farmed animals are fed antibiotics on the daily. Why these animals are fed antibiotics is for a number of reasons. Factory farmed animals are raised in very small, cramped areas, where disease and infection are very prone to arise. Not only do these antibiotics prevent disease, however, they also promote growth. For us as consumers of these species, constantly consuming the second hand product of antibiotics will never benefit our health, but in turn, make us immune to these drugs as well.
Humans aren’t natural omnivores. Our bodies actually thrive best when we eat only plant based foods. People still, however, eat meat daily and claim it natural, in turn causing a boat load of medical issues in our society, such as cancer, heart disease, obesity, etc. “Saying that humans are natural meat-eaters is like arguing that humans are natural smokers”. (Peta.org)

Water My Mind
Globally, factory farming production accounts for 92% of our water footprint on earth. In a simpler form, one quarter pounder from Mcdonald's takes 462 gallons of water to produce. Someone, somewhere, is taking the fall for our actions, and we are unconsciously allowing the world to collapse while there are 925 million people on it starving.
How could our decrease in meat consumption positively effect and benefit world hunger, though? There are more than enough plants on the earth to feed everyone on the earth. However, a very large portion of these crops are used for cattle, to produce meat. If we were to give up factory farming entirely, within 30 years or so, the entire world would be able to develop, and feed themselves.

9th Annual Boston GreenFest 2016

Boston GreenFest is a celebration of abundance of life, a celebration of how we can work together to create a maximum utility for all things living here on earth. Your mind will always believe the things that you tell it, so make sure you’re feeding it the truth. Your body and your earth are your two main gardens to tend to. Nurture them well and you’ll flourish, inside and out.
