Winter Storm Warning In Effect for Somerville Saturday

Here's a look at the latest snow projections.

SOMERVILLE, MA — What was previously thought to be a dusting of powder could become a noticeable amount of snowfall in Somerville, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Storm Warning.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are possible Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening; causing slick roads and reduced visibility. The warning is in effect from Saturday at 7 a.m. to Sunday at 2 a.m.

The NWS' latest local forecast indicates that Somerville is in for snow starting in the afternoon, with snow accumulations of three to five inches possible. The NWS is showing highs in the upper twenties.

An additional one to three inches is currently in the forecast for Saturday night, says the NWS. Temperatures are slated to drop to the mid-teens.
