Bastille Day Celebration and More This Weekend

BASTILLE DAY ST. TROPEZ DANCE
Where/When: , Thursday, 5 p.m. - 2 a.m.
Why Go: The Beehive's 4th annual Bastille Day celebration kicks off with the kitchen whipping up such favorites as steak frites and tuna nicoise accompanied by music from gypsy jazz group The Chicken Thieves. Then, starting at 9 p.m., DJ Kamal spins French dance beats and though the kitchen might be closed, French street food keeps you going all night long. Reservations recommended for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

MEET THE AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR OF GO THE F TO SLEEP
Where/When: , Friday, 1 p.m.
Why Go: Mansbach, we're right there with you. Meet Adam Mansbach, author of Go the F to Sleep, and his illustrator, Ricardo Cortes, for a short book presentation and signing. And don't bring the kids.

FESTIVAL BETANCES 2011
Where/When:  Villa Victoria Center for the Arts, Friday-Sunday
Why Go: Celebrate the diversity of Latino culture as Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (IBA) presents a weekend full of concerts, dance, traditional foods and arts & crafts. More info available here.

2ND ANNUAL HAPPY TAILS BBQ
Where/When: ,, Saturday, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Why Go: Join the ARLB for a BBQ to celebrate animals adopted from shelters and the people who love them. Pups can sample products from Well Fed DogPolka Dog Bakery and Yoghund. Clicker training demonstrations, ask the trainer sessions, pet portraits and live music too. Reserve your ticket here.

CAMP CUTS CUT-A-THON
Where/When: James Joseph Salon, Sunday, Noon - 5 p.m.
Why Go: Only $50 gets you a haircut, post-cut photo shoot, and a goody bag. Food and bubbly also provided. Pretty sure that's something you don't normally find on Newbury St... so you should probably take advantage. Make an appointment here.
