Introduction to VMware: Virtualization Made Easy
VMware is the industry leader in software virtualization technology, which allows multiple operating systems to run on a single physical computer. This enables lower capital costs, fault containment, more efficient use of hardware, improved disaster recovery, and the ability to migrate to new hardware or to experiment with new software or operating systems without having to invest in new hardware. It can even enable you to run a virtual copy of an old PC so you can recycle the one you’ve stored in the closet, or to run legacy Windows XP applications that may not be compatible with your current operating system. We'll discuss the features and capabilities of VMware's free and retail products, and demonstrate installing multiple operating systems on virtual machines, cloning virtual machines, and configuring virtual hardware on those machines. Sunday, May 15th, 2011 from 11:00AM-5:00PM; 1 session. $99/$84 Members.
