• District D-4 sees 4-percent drop from last year (thebostonsun.com) — Crime in the Boston police district that includes South End is down 4% compared with last year, with big drops in car break-ins and auto thefts but a rise in domestic aggravated assaults. From January through September 20, major crimes in this district remain slightly above the five-year average, so residents should stay alert even as several categories improve.
