Artists showcased their innovative craft pieces at the Cyclorama last weekend.

The annual Craftboston Holiday event attracted creative shoppers and collectors at the Boston Center for the Arts last weekend.

About 90 artists presented their innovative, one-of-a-kind pieces in ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, shoes, leather, metal, paper and wood in the historic Cyclorama building. Those craft pieces, mostly handmade by local artists in New England, added to the relaxed shopping atmosphere in the holiday season.

With independent jurors well known and respected in the art field, Craftboston supports fine craft artists who show mastery in their craft, according to the organizer.

Diana Thomas, a clay potter in Maine, brought wood-fired pottery made in her rural kiln to the fair. Each pot presented on the show is unique after months of waxing, glazing and drying, Thomas said.

Barbara and Virginia Cieslicki, designer sisters who have made acrylic jewelry for 20 years, said they brought about 600 pieces in 75 styles to the fair and were happy to see lots of them sold.

“We call what we design ‘fun jewelry’,” Virginia said. “These rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings are all very lightweight and do wonderful things with lights.”

CraftBoston Holiday, now in its fourth year, was produced by the Society of Arts and Crafts. The non-profit organization will hold another fair for contemporary craft, the Spring for Craftboston, from  March 23 to 25.
