Why Go: Finally we can get our goat cheese fix! And the fresh fruits and veggies aren't bad either. Open Tuesdays and Fridays through Thanksgiving.

SOUTH END LIBRARY BOOK SALE
Where/When:, Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Why Go: Hardcovers will go for $1 and paperbacks for 50 cents. We doubt you'll find that good of a deal even on Amazon.

EARTHFEST 2011
Where/When: , Saturday, 11 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.
Why Go: Sponsored by Whole Foods (so we’re banking on some tasty food samples), this year’s EarthFest features performances by Atomic Tom (perhaps you’ve seen this video?), Sponge, OK Go and LIVE’s Ed Kowalczyk. Isn't being an environmentalist fun?

BOSTON THEATER MARATHON XIII
Where/When:  , Sunday, noon - 10 p.m.
Why Go: 50 ten-minute plays by 51 New England playwrights presented by 50 New England theatre companies in 10 hours. Read that one more time, slowly. Pretty awesome, right? Purchase tickets here.
Pricing: $25 in advance, $35 day of

MAKE A DIFFERENCE CUT-A-THON
Where/When: Salon Red and Spa, Sunday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Why Go: A cut and blow-dry from Salon Red will usually set you back at least $50, but this Sunday the salon is offering a $30 price tag for the same services. All proceeds benefit the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress. Call 617-267-1811 to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.
