3 Stabbed In Youth Melee Near Stoneham Pizza Place
Two youths were injured - one seriously - and a man who tried to intervene was also stabbed, police said.

STONEHAM, MA — Three were stabbed at a Wednesday night altercation in front of a Stoneham pizza restaurant. Two juveniles were injured - one seriously - as was a man who attempted to intervene, according to Stoneham Police Chief James McIntrye.
Police reported to the area of 498 Main Street around 8:42 p.m. for a report of a fight. That's the area of Andrea's Pizza, where police came upon a 47-year-old man who said he had been stabbed by a kid still at the scene.

Police determined two groups of kids arranged to meet near Andrea's, where a fight broke out. One of the juveniles stabbed two from the other group, police said. When the 47-year-old man came out to intervene, he was stabbed in the leg.
One of the juveniles was stabbed in the torso and transported to a Boston hospital with serious injuries, police said. The other young victim was stabbed in the leg, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The 47-year-old man was also stabbed in the leg.
The group of kids scattered during the fight, but Stoneham Police officers found them a short time later. They were detained for questioning.
Stoneham Police said the kids knew each other and there is no threat to the community. Police are investigating.
