Ann Marie Gailis Passes Away

Longtime Stoneham resident was a teacher and mentor.

Ann Marie (Theroux) Gailis of Stoneham, passed away on Monday July 23, at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House. She was 74 years of age.

Born in Medford, Ann Marie was the loving daughter of the late Albert and Ann (Dittami) Theroux. Ann Marie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Ann Marie was very well know within the Stoneham School Department. She was the eternal teacher and mentor in the school department for many years. Education and reading were very important to her. She also won the Apple Award which is given for excellence in teaching.

Ann Marie is the beloved wife of Peter J. Gailis. She is the cherished mother of Susan Ann Hartigan and her husband Craig W., Elizabeth Murphy and her husband Joseph. Loving grandmother of Grace, Jeremiah, Charlotte, Juliet and CJ. Dear sister of Eugene Theroux and his wife Polly, Alexander Theroux and his wife Sarah, Paul Theroux and his wife Sheila, Mary Theroux and her husband John Butler, Joseph Theroux and his wife Diane, and Peter Theroux. Adoring aunt of many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are kindly invited to gather and share memories with the family on Sunday, July 29th in the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT28) Stoneham from 4-8 pm. Parking attendants and elevator available.

A Funeral Celebrating Ann Marie's Eternal Life will be held in St. Patrick's Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, Monday July 30 at 10 am. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham.
