Stoneham Boys & Girls Club Celebrates 40th Anniversary
This month the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
October marks the 40th anniversary of the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham, which was founded in October of 1972. The club has developed immensely over the span of 40 years, but still owes a great amount of gratitude to everyone that helped establish and sustain the club’s ability to make a positive impact on the children and adolescents of Stoneham and surrounding towns.
Key players such as former board president, Cameron Bain, and Patrick O’Donnell, former long standing executive director of the club, had a substantial influence on the starting of the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham, which still offers quality youth development programming to the community. It is evident the club has had a major influence on generations of youth, and plans to continue to do so through the future.
Today, the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham offers a wide variety of athletic and nutrition offerings, homework assistance, technology programs, character development programs; as well as programs in art, dance and music.

Executive Director Gerry DeViller said: “These are exciting times. Not only are we celebrating 40 years of service in Stoneham, but we are also planning to open a satellite site in Wakefield in the near future.” He went on to say, “We couldn’t have been able to stay open over the past 40 years without the help of our volunteers, donors, staff; as well as all of our supporters in the community.”
Connected to the club’s 40th anniversary, the Boys & Girls Club of Stoneham is preparing for a 40th anniversary gala in March. We are seeking local community business sponsors for this event. Please contact us for more information regarding sponsorship opportunities.
