STONEHAM, MA — Two men arrested and charged in a pair of burglaries in Brookline may have been behind two burglaries in Stoneham last year, according to police. Investigators believe Michael Wallace, 52, of Malden, and Mark Burhoe Sr., 44, of Charlestown, can be linked to nearly a dozen other commercial burglaries in greater Boston since last spring, police said.

Wallace and Burhoe were arrested Jan. 13 on warrants related to burglaries at Anatolia Restaurant Aug. 20 and the Washington Square Tavern Nov. 24, Brookline police said. Video surveillance showed the men approaching and leaving both sites, according to police.

Officers searched their homes and cars and seized evidence, including clothing and tools, linking them to several other break-ins, police said. During the burglaries, the suspects would target safes, registers and offices, and in two instances removed large safes from the buildings, according to police.
