Community members are welcome to attend Stoneham High School’s Winter Concert on Wednesday, January 21 at 7:00pm. The concert band, jazz band, and chorus will perform pieces ranging from a Coldplay tribute, holiday staples, and jazz standards including Cissy Strut and Recordame.
On Tuesday, January 20 at 7:00pm, the Stoneham Central Middle School bands will perform their winter concert at Stoneham High School. Under the direction of Paul Nguyen, the 5th Grade Band will demonstrate fundamental skill building routines, selections from their band book, and a fun piece called Beethoven's Jingle. The 6th-8th Grade Band will perform Quicksilver Overture by Anne McGinty, A Seasonal Invitation by Michael Francis Smith, and Bell Carol Rock arranged by Ryan Fraley. The Jazz Ensemble will perform Who's Blues?, September Blues, and Jingle Bell Jam. The SCMS Band program would like to give back to the community by accepting donations to support the First Church Stoneham Food Pantry on the evening of the concert. Non-perishable, non-expired food items as well as household and personal care items are welcome.
Less than a “Fortnight” later, become “Enchanted” with the Stoneham Central Middle School Chorus as they “Shake It Off,” filling the “Blank Space” of the middle school cafeteria on Wednesday, January 28 at 7:00pm to perform an evening of music by singer-songwriter Taylor Swift under the direction of David Parry.
Admission is free for all three performances.
