Most of you have heard of the Oak Ridge Boys, but have you heard of the city of Oak Ridge? You are invited to come on Thursday November 12, 2026, as former Stoneham resident David LaCroix tells the story how this mysterious city, sometimes referred to as the Atomic City or the Secret City or the City Behind the Fence came to be. It sprung up overnight in the wilds of Tennessee in the midst of World War II. Most of its residents didn't know what they were working on, but as part of the Manhattan Project, they played a significant part is assuring victory in WWII.
