“I encourage all residents to lock their cars all the time. Nearly all motor vehicle break-ins are crimes of opportunity and involve unlocked vehicles," Chief McIntyre said. "Also, please keep your eyes peeled and report any suspicious activity in your neighborhoods to the police."

To prevent break-ins and thefts, the Stoneham Police Department offers the following tips for residents:

· Always lock all car doors.

· Roll up windows and close sunroofs.

· Never leave loose electronics in plain view.

· Do not leave money or credit cards in your car or loose change in plain view.

· Report any suspicious people or vehicles that you see in your neighborhood.

· Call police immediately if you notice something missing.

· If you believe your home was broken into, do not go inside and call 911.

Anyone with information about the recent break-ins is asked to call the Stoneham Police Department at 781-438-1215.
